Draft of minutes for the Pisa meeting

Hi.

here is my summary of the discussions in the communication group
(while I was present:). 

Communication section

The proposal from Schlegel on communication patterns was discussed. It
was agreed that there is a need to consider how these patterns can be
used not only for coarse level process integration, but also for
real-time integration between individual components, which requires
abstraction across different types of IPC. How can the underlying
mechanisms be wrapped to provide IPC independence?  In addition it is
desirable to use an IDL like (or preferably IDL) for specification of
communication between modules/components. The availability of standard
methods for IDL defined communication across different types of IPC
will be investigated and various Open SOurce projects on Corba/IDL,
... will consulted as to the availability of such mechanisms.
