My goal here is to identify Orocos components, and classify them in the four CORBA categories. (These are listed on the webpage at <http://www.orocos.org/corba.html>) This way, we will discover more easily what the architectural needs are, and find inspiring examples (with possibly source code) from other domains. service - sensors. Including `logical sensors', i.e., that do some processing (Markov filtering, fusion, combination, ...) before making data available. - path planning. Stateless, sessionless. - kinematic calculations. session - task execution: assembly, autonomous navigation, - control algorithm. Stores control errors. - History-dependent path planning. - Non-Markov filters. - control server for generic 6DOF serial arm. The arm has communication slots for data exchange, attributes for its kinematic dimensions, etc. entity - device logging. Logs total amount of working time, of distance travelled, of errors, mounted tools, etc. process - ?? Inputs welcome!
