Subject:	Free/Open Source Software Projects Concertation Meeting,
Brussels, 24/6/2002

Dear Mr Bruyninckx,

During the 5th Framework Programme of Research and Development that is now
reaching its end, a significant number of projects developing innovative
free / open source software technology and applications have received
European support, and are now on-going. In parallel, other European
programmes, Member States and regional programmes have also initiated
projects and actions. The unit "Technologies and Engineering for Software,
Systems and Services" of the Information Society DG, in co-operation with
other units of the IST programme, and other programmes of the European
Commission is organising a meeting of these projects. The scope of the
meeting is to foster collaboration between free / open source software
projects in Europe, and to facilitate exchanges in view of free / open
source developments in the 6th framework programme.

The meeting will take place in Brussels, Centre Borchette, on the 24th of
June 2002 in the afternoon. You can see in the annex the draft agenda of the
meeting. The meeting will last half a day, with enough time after to have
bilateral discussion between all the participants.

As the co-ordinator of the project OROCOS, we would like you to present it.
The presentation should last 15 minutes, with 5 minutes question-time.
Should you be interested to attend the meeting, or to send a representative,
and to make a presentation of your project, please inform me by email
([email protected]) not later then the 31st of May as the
number of seats are limited. Further information will be sent later.
Furthermore, you can inform partners of your projects of the meeting,
should they be interested to attend the meeting, ask them to register by the
31st of May.
Yours Sincerely,

Junger Jean-François
Scientific Officer
