I officially announce that Orocos organizes a workshop about (Graphical) User Interfaces, to be held in Leuven on June 20th 2003. The goal of this workshop is to discuss about what are the needs for generic and specialized robot interfaces (visualisation, programming, simulation, ...), what exists already, and how a good decoupled design of a user interface should look like. At the same time, I would like to have a discussion about how the CORBA developments within OROCOS fit in this (G)UI discussion. Please, send participation and/or discussion topics requests to me, so that I can prepare an agenda. <[email protected]> There are still OROCOS travel grants available. I will provide them to motivated participation requests. Note that the final review of the EU-sponsored Orocos project is planned to take place on July 28th, also in Leuven. This involves a closed afternoon session with the reviewers, but depending on the interest, we are happy to attach a one day workshop to this meeting, demoing our real-time control and other stuff.
