Today I found the Marie project: <http://marie.sourceforge.net/>.

"MARIE is a robotic development and integration environment build over
a communication layer. Its main goal is to easily integrate other
applications so it includes several wrappers of useful robotics
softwares (Player/Stage, CARMEN, RobotFlow, etc.)."

They work towards ACE + CORBA implementations.
