Are you trying the realtime version of Orocos? This will only work with a
"vanilla kernel" from kernel.org, and not with the patched versions that
most distributions provide.

In addition, Orocos makes (non surprisingly) use of a lot of "non desktop"
libraries, so the support for these is less than optimal in desktop
oriented distributions like Suse.

My suggestion to you is that you post the first problem you encounter, with
details about the problem, on the orocos-dev list:
