I guess I should have referenced what I have already found concerning
arcnet and real-time control. Doing a search on RTnet's mail list (a
feature I would love for RTAI!), I came across this exchange:

http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00616.html

So someone before me has asked if RTAI + arcnet + RTnet is possible.
Before blazing off into the trail of porting modules into RTnet, I
didn't think it would be ridiculous to poll the communities of RTAI (and
now Orocos) to see if this had already been accomplished - in today's
world there is always someone who has done or is doing exactly what you
are attempting. I have tried to contact Dario Dallefrate (original
poster on RTnet about this topic) but have not recieved a response in
over 2 weeks.
