What is the best way to add a new interface?

Hi there,

I've been using Player for a while now and would like to add a custom interface
for the driver I'm working on (I've just been hijacking existing interfaces
until now).

Am I correct in thinking that if I want to add an interface and get nice things
like auto-generated client proxies then the only way to do this is to modify the
player codebase itself?

I have seen odd references to plug-in interfaces on this newsgroup but I can't
find any details of how to implement them. If they do exist then could someone
point me in the direction of an example?
