Hello,

The foremost is to develop under Linux (e.g. debian, ubuntu).

1. why use Qt LGPL when you have GPL-v3 available?

http://qt.nokia.com/products/licensing/licensing#qt-gnu-gpl-v

2. another framework is JUCE:

http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/jucefeatures.php

3. Python is a good alternative to c++ but in general you will get
more user adaptability in C++

cheers
