Very few points were awarded in the male 1500 m, as all but 3 participants favoured Juskov and the predicted times therefore were far too good. Bjørn Johansen however predicted the right winner as the only one and wins the distance with 4 points, being not too far off with his winning time. Vidar Stenberg in fact predicted Swings, and gets no points for him, but his winning time is almost spot on, 1.46,19, giving him 3 points and a silver in the distance. The bronze is a 12-way tie between Juskov-predictors who weren’t too far off with their times. Joe and I, whose predictions were too far off to get any points at all, still keep our lead, but three of those bronze winners, Øyvind, Håkon and Tim, moved up to only 1 point behind, along with Vidar.
Now we can add the points for the 9th to 12th place overall, too, and the ones qualified were, in the order of their 1500 + 5000 m samalog ranking: 9.Contin 74,610 10.Nilsen 75,325 11.Silovs 75,331 12.Bródka 75,368. The best predictors here were Joe Gier, Carool van Kesteren, Sybe van Hijum, and Jørgen Slyk, all with 4 points. 7 others had 3 points. Thus Joe extends his lead after the 5th distance:
