Most Dutch skaters stay on low level tracks, only Lotto Jumbo is going to Collalbo. The Italians do the world cup in Erfurt, and will then go to Japan.. From there to S Korea. 

Most skaters will arrive a week before their first race to stay focussed.

No, it’s in Gangneung, at 17 masl. You do get the right altitude by going up in the hills, but there will be no ice to train I suppose. The nearest indoor rinks will be the ones in Japan and China, but they are pretty much down to sea level as well. There is Ürümqi, but that’s in western China, about as far from Gangneung as Collalbo was from Sochi. If you don’t need indoor ice, however, there are some excellent and well-kept tracks in Japan, like Ikaho, Shibukawa, Fujikyu, Akanashi and the famous Karuizawa, all at around 1000 masl.
