As Semerikov was disqualified, it is questionable whether he should be ranked as 8th as the last of the 8 finalists or as 10th according to his rank overall after 3 distances. But I think I’m within the rules when I’m ranking him as 8th in this competition.
Anyhow, this was a very unpredictable championship and the final scores are just about the lowest ever, I think. Almost everybody predicted Sverre correctly in 2nd place, believe it or not, and almost everybody predicted Kramer incorrrectly as the winner. Bjørn Hagen, who has been sitting modestly at the bottom end for most of the turnament, gets a final boost by predicting Pedersen and Swings correctly and also gets 3 points for Roest and 2 for Silovs, one of the few predicting Silovs to finish top 8. I got a boost myself, predicting Pedersen, Swings and Roest like Bjørn, but missing out on Silovs. Jos, Sybe and Arne Johan also did well with 10 points. Knut-Anders was the only one who predicted the correct winner, but apart from those 8 points he only got 1 more for Swings.

Tim is getting hard to catch up here. Gerrit is safe in 2nd place, but ended up in the other end of the result table this time. Will we see you in better prediction shape next time around, Gerrit? As we can see from the medal table, the other two medal winners also have their fair share of merits in this competition. When will we see a newcomer among the medals next?
Anyway, thanks for a most beautiful championship. I’m sorry that we didn’t manage to ruin the party more for you good Dutchies. But I promise we’ll come on stronger next time around. Thanks for a beautiful prediction championship, too. I’m hoping to see you all in the next edition, and more. And if you don’t find yourself in the upper reaches of the final results, there’s another little date that we’re having together down in the Italian alps in just a few short summer months, where we’ll all be starting from scratch again. See you all then (and more)!

…from Amsterdam, where the tulips will bloom when I’m well settled back home again, but the crocuses and daffodils as well as the coltsfeet are making a show at least, and the jackdaws are nosy...
