Bar-Gadda, LLC has developed a working prototype system that can produce hy= drogen from water or geothermal steam. The technology (patent pending) use= s a new technique called radiant energy transfer (RET) that uses the unique= properties of water in order to efficiently split water to hydrogen and ox= ygen. Unlike electrolysis which needs an external form of electrical ener= gy to propel the process, RET is self-contained and relies only on the ener= gy in the steam to crack the water to hydrogen. A working prototype has be= en in successful operation for over 6 months. Different types of water hav= e been used to produce hydrogen; from bottled water to carbonated water.
