Cat Lift Trucks Purchases General Hydrogen Fuel Cell Pack.

General Hydrogen Corporation has sold a Hydricity(r) Pack to Cat Lift
Trucks of Houston, Texas, to be delivered in July, 2006.  Cat Lift
Trucks will be using the pack in a  Class 1 battery-electric forklift.

CCEF to Help Fund Bridgeport Fuel Cell Park.

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) has signed a loan agreement
with Bridgeport Fuel Cell Park, LLC (BFCP) for pre-development funding
of a 10-megawatt fuel cell park to be located on a brownfield site in
Bridgeport, Connecticut.  This fuel cell project, when completed, will
be the largest in the country and will be able to power over 9,300
households with clean energy.  The loan of up to $500,000 is being
provided through CCEF's Pre-Development Program, which funds the early
stages of renewable energy projects that will feed power from clean
energy sources into the New England electric grid.  FuelCell Energy,
Inc. (FCE) will provide the project's five fuel cells and PurePower, LLC
will provide consulting.

FuelCell Energy Extends Agreement with Marubeni.

FuelCell Energy, Inc has extended the distribution agreement with its
Asian partner, Marubeni Corp. to sell its Direct FuelCell(r) (DFC(r))
products in Japan.  Marubeni will order 6 megawatts (MW) of DFC(r) power
plants and a cash down payment related to the commitment.  In exchange,
FuelCell Energy agreed to extend Marubeni's exclusivity to sell DFC(r)
products in Japan.

Smart Fuel Cell Introduces New Product Line.

SFC Smart Fuel Cell AG has introduced the EFOY (Energy for You) product
family of fuel cells, the successor of the Company's successful SFC A50
fuel cell.  There are three new fuel cell models with various levels of
performance - EFOY 1600, EFOY 1200, and EFOY 600 (with a charging
capacity of 1.6 kWh, 1.2 kWh, 0.6 KWh per day, respectively). The EFOY
family's top model, the EFOY 1600 exhibits a 33 percent increase in
power output over its predecessor.  Donaldson provides the filters for

Smart Fuel Cell Selected to Provide Fuel Cell to Air Force.

SFC Smart Fuel Cell has been selected to develop a fuel cell-based
Lightweight Portable Power System for the U.S. Air Force within the next
ten months. The value of the development order amounts to US$500,000.
The power system will consist of three components: an advanced version
of SFC's lightweight FCPS soldier portable fuel cell, custom engineered
to US Air Force specifications, SFC's high efficiency Power Manager, and
an innovative Harris PRC 117 interface.=20

Mohegan Sun Now Using Proton Energy Backup System.

The Mohegan Sun casino and entertainment complex is now using a fuel
cell system to provide backup power for the Mohegan Energy, Environment,
Economics, and Education Center.  The system, designed and developed by
Proton Energy Systems, was made possible by a grant from the Connecticut

Protonex Delivers Power System to Air Force.

Protonex Technology Corporation has delivered advanced prototypes of its
P2 soldier power system to the U.S. Air Force for evaluation. This
delivery marks the successful completion of the two-year Dual Use
Science and Technology (DUST) program awarded to Protonex by the Air
Force in April 2003.  In addition, the Air Force Research Laboratory
(AFRL) has notified Protonex and its partner, Millennium Cell Inc. of
its intent to award an additional $1.02 million program focusing on P2
enhancements and manufacturability and for procurement of additional
systems for performance and reliability testing.  The P2 system, which
can produce up to 50 watts of continuous power, combines Protonex fuel
cell technology with a chemical hydride fueling subsystem based on
technology licensed from Millennium Cell.=20

MTI Micro Enters Alliance with Samsung.

MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. (MTI Micro) has entered into an exclusive
alliance with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, to develop next-generation
fuel cell prototypes for Samsung's mobile phone business. Mobion(r), MTI
Micro's patented direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) technology, has been
chosen to power a series of prototypes designed for Samsung's mobile
phone and mobile phone accessories.

IdaTech Receives ANSI/CSA Certification.

IdaTech, LLC has satisfied all testing requirements and received
ANSI/CSA America FC 1, Stationary Fuel Cell Power Systems (FC 1)
certification for two products in the company's ElectraGen(tm) family of
backup power solutions; the ElectraGen(tm)3 and ElectraGen(tm)5 systems.
FC 1 is the most current and comprehensive standard for certification of
stationary fuel cell systems and therefore is the standard used by
Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) and CSA.  IdaTech's solutions are among
the first Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell systems in the 3 kWe
and 5 kWe range to achieve certification to the FC 1 standard.=20

Hydrogen From Candy? Sweet.

Scientists from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council
(EPSRC) have found that waste from confectionery production could be
used to produce useful amounts of hydrogen for electricity generation.
The feasibility study used sugar-rich waste from a Cadbury's factory to
power a fuel cell.  E. coli bacteria in a five liter vessel fermented
run-off from nougat and caramel production lines to produce hydrogen.  A
second culture of Rhodobacter sphaeroides was added to increase the
yield of the reaction.  Adding palladium turns the remaining waste into
a useful catalyst that can be used in removing PCB pollutants from the
environment, making fuel cell electrodes, or for hydrogenation for
products like margarine.=20=20

BOC and Tongji University to Build Hydrogen Fueling Station.

The BOC Group plc and Tongji University have signed a Letter of Intent
to build the first hydrogen refueling station in Shanghai by the end of
2006. This project is part of the Ministry of Science and Technology's
national program to commercialize fuel cell vehicles in China and will
refuel three buses and 20 cars.  The project team led by Tongji
University will be responsible overall for the project. BOC will provide
engineering and procurement services needed to deliver the packaged
hydrogen compression, storage, dispensing system and trucked in
compressed gas hydrogen for the new station. Shell, which is funding
part of the project, is working with Tongji University on the design,
construction, maintenance and operations of the refueling station.

Millennium Cell Wins Two SBIR Contracts.

Millennium Cell Inc. has been awarded a Phase I Small Business
Innovation Research Program (SBIR) contract by the Air Force Research
Laboratory to develop a sodium borohydride based fuel cartridge design
that has the flexibility to operate with either ready-to-use, premixed
solutions of sodium borohydride, or alternatively, with solid fuel
packets that a warfighter can combine with available field water or
bodily fluids. Millennium Cell has also been awarded a Phase I Small
Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) Grant by the National
Science Foundation (NSF) to develop a new hydrogen storage technology
based on solid fuel blends that include borohydrides. This technology,
if successfully developed, would enable a new class of safe, reliable,
and high energy dense hydrogen batteries for use in portable devices in
our target markets.

PCI Receives Contract from Navy.

Precision Combustion, Inc. (PCI) has received a Small Business
Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract from the U.S. Navy Sea
Systems Command to develop a novel ultra-compact, high efficiency
catalytic steam reforming process for fuel cell systems, capable of
utilizing Navy logistic fuels.  The steam reformer will be based upon
PCI's patented and trademarked Microlith(r) technology. This technology
will be modeled and developed in the Phase I program for application in
a prototype fuel processing system to be developed in a follow-on

DOE has sponsored the development of a Hydrogen Incidents Database,
intended to facilitate the sharing of lessons learned and other relevant
information gained from actual experiences using and working with
hydrogen. The database contains records of events involving either

QuestAir to Supply Hydrogen Purifiers to Nuvera.

QuestAir Technologies Inc. has signed an agreement, valued at up to
US$700,000, to supply its H-3300 hydrogen purifiers to Nuvera Fuel Cells
through 2008. QuestAir also received a purchase order from Nuvera for
initial delivery of H-3300 units later this year.  Under the terms of
the preferred supplier agreement, QuestAir's H-3300 pressure swing
adsorption (PSA) systems will be integrated into Nuvera's PowerTap(tm)
branded hydrogen generators. The PowerTap(tm) converts widely available
fuels such as natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas to hydrogen.
QuestAir's H-3300 will purify the hydrogen product to the demanding
purity specifications required for fuel cell markets.

Hydrogenics Receives Order from GS Caltex, Follow-on Order from GM.

Hydrogenics Corporation has received orders for three FCATS(r) fuel cell
test stations from Korean energy company, GS Caltex.  Hydrogenics will
provide a FCATS G300 Test Station and two FCATS G50 Test Stations this
year. The test stations will be used to advance GS Caltex's activities
in new and emerging energy technologies, including small stationary fuel
cell applications (below 10 kilowatt) for residential use.  Hydrogenics
Corporation also has received a follow-on order from General Motors
Corporation to provide fuel cell test services which is anticipated to
be fully realized in 2006.

VIASPACE Developing Instrument to Measure Humidity, DMFCC Receives
Cartridge Technology, Licensing Agreement.

VIASPACE Inc. is developing a laser based instrument to measure the
humidity level in hydrogen fuel cells.  The membrane only conducts
protons when it is hydrated by water vapor in the incoming air or
hydrogen stream. The VIASPACE instrument will provide real-time
measurements of the amount of water vapor in these gas streams.  In
other news, VIASPACE's subsidiary company Direct Methanol Fuel Cell
Corporation (DMFCC) has received important cartridge technology from a
Harvey Mudd College Engineering Clinic design team. The team, sponsored
by DMFCC, completed a year-long project to develop innovative
tamper/child resistance and authentication features for fuel cell
cartridges designed to be used in portable electronics.  DMFCC also
exercised an option and signed an exclusive worldwide license agreement
with the California institute of Technology (Caltech) for three issued
and six pending patents on direct methanol fuel cell technology. The
patents include important technology on micro and miniature fuel cells
for small portable applications.

DOE Publishes Findings of Hydrogen Baseline Knowledge and Opinion
Survey.

The Department of Energy has published the findings of its first-ever
Hydrogen Baseline Knowledge and Opinion Survey.  Key conclusions include
a direct correlation between technical knowledge of hydrogen and
opinions about hydrogen safety. Audiences surveyed included the public,
students, state and local government officials, and potential end users
in three categories - transportation, businesses needing uninterruptible
power, and large power users. The data will help direct DOE hydrogen
education activities.

Fuel Cells Canada Changes Name to Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada.

Fuel Cells Canada, the national industry association for Canada's
hydrogen and fuel cell sector, has changed its name to Hydrogen & Fuel
Cells Canada.  The new name more accurately reflects the interests of
the association's membership - companies developing and commercializing
hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, components, systems supply and
integration, fuelling systems, fuel storage, as well as engineering,
business and financial services required by the sector.

Colorado Fuel Cell Center Opens.

The Colorado Governor's Office of Energy Management and Conservation
(OEMC) along with its partners, the Gas Technology Institute, the
Colorado School of Mines, Versa Power Systems, Inc., and the U.S.
Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
announced the grand opening of the state's first fuel cell center. The
Colorado Fuel Cell Center, located at the Colorado School of Mines, will
be the home to world class experts and projects focusing on research in
the areas of electrochemical technology, materials, and fuel processing.

CCEF Unveils Clean Energy Trail

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) unveiled its Connecticut Clean
Energy Trail which highlights commercial clean energy installations -
such as fuel cells and solar energy systems - located throughout the
state.  A variety of information about each clean energy installation on
the trail is available online, including: installation size, savings in
grid power and/or pollution avoidance equivalencies, clean energy
technology details, live system energy data (for some), and a contact
name for additional information. If the "virtual" visitor would like to
