Aloha,

What people are actually doing and what consequences emerge is what needs to
be observed. I don't care too much what they call it.

Fukuoka started by cutting down mature, producing orchards and spraying
herbicide. And yet he appeared to be paying attention, and learning what he
could about consequences of his actions, so good has perhaps come of those
initial actions that some would condemn unconditionally.

And millions and millions have been killed in the name of God, Allah,
Democracy, Truth, etc.

I'm sure I can find some people somewhere who say they are true disciples of
Fukuoka and are doing things you would find equally disturbing.

And 'native' is a relative term, of course. Are you talking about before the
ha'oles (Europeans) showed up, or before the most recent Polynesians, who
became the Hawaiians, showed up, or before the people who were there before
them showed up, or...? Whatever you pick, it's always arbitrary; there was
always something before that that got changed by something after that.

There afaik no way humans will not be a factor in the systems we inhabit. We
cannont have "zero effect" or "zero consequences" if we choose to continue to
exist. A true minimalist does not exist.

A question that I find interesting is "how *will* we continue to exist such
that we *can* continue to exist? And enjoy our existence?"

To seek answers to that I look at actions and systems and consequences much
more than arbitrary words.
