Earthaven Experience Weekend

May 20-22       July 9-11    October 8 - 10



  a.. Enjoy an overview of life at Earthaven Ecovillage, a 60-member,
10-year-old intentional community in the mountains southwest of Asheville,
North Carolina.
  b.. Tour Earthaven's sustainable systems- compost toilets, earth-friendly
passive solar
  buildings, off-grid power systems, water catchment systems, and
constructed wetlands.
  c.. Enjoy delicious vegetarian community meals.
  d.. Ask questions at a Q&A panel of Earthaven members-"What is it
  really like living this way?"
  e.. Attend a mini-workshop about communities by Diana Christian, author
  of "Creating a Life Together: Practical Tools to Grow an Intentional
Community"·
  f.. Sit in on a Council meeting governed by consensus
  g.. Hang out with community members at a Coffeehouse evening, with
  card games, poetry, music, camaraderie, and more.
  h.. Participate in a workshop by Rod Rylander, originator of the
  vertical crawl space earth shelter, in building with available resources
and
  innovative building systems including timber frame, cob, sawdust blocks,
  adobe, cordwood, living roofs, and vertical crawl space, get an overview
of
  agriculture systems being developed
  i.. Take a medicinal plant walk with Kimchi of Red Moon Herbs
  j.. Have an introduction to Permaculture
