Aloha, > Interesting comment re permaculture founders, I have met Daidid Holmgren a few > times and he seems to be a very down to earth person, so not sure if he was > the ""quiet reclusive loner, more or less"". I confess I am most certainly extrapolating regarding David Holmgren. Mollison has been a public enough figure that I make my assessment of his contributions to human relatings elements from his videos and writings and the various stories of his actions I have repeatedly heard from people who know him to a greater or lesser extent. Holmgren being as far as I can tell a much less public person and not having seen a lot in his publications either on human relational aspects in permaculture, I take a guess...not implying that he is not a very down to earth person or whatever, just that his focus is (apparently, from his works) not heavy on design particulars of human relatings elements. I want to read Holmgren's new book and haven't yet, though I have seen a presentation Peter Bane does based on some of the material therein. Peter's presentation is on 'revised' principles as presented by Holmgren and I found it rather "head-y" so I need to look at the whole work myself. In short, "people care" is a core PC principle and yet gets very little expansion, clarification, structure, methods, techniques, etc. in the works of the permaculture 'founders' - especially in comparison to the massive detail on all manner of other physical/biological systems in for example the Designer's Manual. cheers, John S.
