So does anybody have any ideas how Iraqi farmers can fight back on this?

--I wish I did! What Iraq needs right now is a new Mahatma Gandhi, a
mindful, strategically intelligent, and relentlessly nonviolent spiritual leader,
widely respected by all religious factions and press-savvy, who could lead Iraqi
farmers in a mass Satyagraha campaign of (1) refusing to buy Monsanto seed or
any other American-made products they can do without; (2) stockpiling,
exchanging, and planting their own seeds in mass violation of these new
Monsanto-sponsored regulations enacted by Paul Bremer, and (3) supporting each other in the
effort to build a local, sustainable, diversified, exchange-based
agricultural economy, independent of the Glomart system altogether. Tall order to be sure!

Best wishes,

Tom
