Aloha,

"Consensus," like "sustainable" and "green" and "democracy" and 
"religion" and "spirituality" and so on, is a pretty bankrupted word 
these days.

Getting oneself wrapped around (attached to) particular words and terms 
and jargon appears to lead to (here so far at least) arguing over 
abstractions.

I find it much more useful to look at what is actually being done 
(without having to attach a name to it) that "works" and "doesn't work" 
- in regards to human decision-making or whatever else is of interest. 
If some structure/process most often "works" in a particular context, I 
don't care what it's called.

By "works" I mean "has consequences that one likes."

By "doesn't work" I mean "has consequences that one does not like."
