When I wrote to the company("contact us" at their site) and asked the cost
of initial investment for a private homeowner
$10-15K was the quote.....no doubt for wiring, labor, and batteries which
are usually the most expensive
component.

Are you thinking about using the unit without storage?   ...do you have a
cheaper source of compatible batteries?
