how to translate MathML

Hello,

I was told that DB2LaTeX is able to handle MathML embedded in DocBook XML.  
But if I translate a DocBook/MathML file with DB2LaTeX' docbook.xsl, I get a 
LaTeX file which contains some blank lines where math code is expected.

How do I manage to get the MathML parts translated?

I use xsltproc 1.1.8 and DB2LaTeX 0.8pre1.

I don't know much about XML namespaces but could this problem have something 
to do with namespaces?  docbook.xsl contains

    xmlns:doc="http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0"

and mathml/mathml.mod.xsl contains

    xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"
    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML".

Is this up to date?  Nowadays, DocBook XML has its DTD under 
http://www.oasis-open.org.  Does the namespace still begin with 
http://nwalsh.com?

I use http://www.docbook.org/xml/mathml/1.0/dbmathml.dtd as the DTD URL in my 
document.  Does this make problems because the namespace URL in 
mathml/mathml.mod.xsl begins with http://www.w3.org?

At the beginning of mathml/mathml.mod.xsl there is the following statement:

    Note: these elements are not part of the DocBook DTD. I have extended the
    docbook DTD in order to support this tags, so that's why I have these
    templates here.

But although MathML elements aren't part of DocBook, they are part of the 
MathML-extended DocBook which is an official document type nowadays.  Why 
isn't this reflected in the comment in mathml/mathml.mod.xsl?
