No wonder I misunderstood you, see the subject of this thread and what=20
you wrote in your first mail:

Either single makefile with everything, or main makefile with=20
submakefiles in subdirectories called through <subproject>.

Indeed, sorry about that. I only looked at autoconf format output=20
(which does the right thing) and assumed it was handled generically=20
in makefile.bkl. I'll fix it for the next release.
