Fix tests for LaTeX to MathML converters.

Strip trailing underscore from generated output file names.

Move test setup out of the "with self.subTest(...) block.

+<p>If you put <span class="docutils literal">.. <span class="pre">default-role::</span> math</span> at the top of your
+document, you can write <span class="docutils literal">`x^2`</span> instead of the longer
+version: <span class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">:math:`x^2`</span></span>.  You can also introduce an
+abbreviation like this <span class="docutils literal">.. role:: m(math)</span>.  That will allow
+you to write <span class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">:m:`x^2`</span></span> or <span class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">`x^2`:m:</span></span>.</p>

+linked to by <a class="reference external" href="../ref/rst/restructuredtext.html#hyperlink-references">hyperlink references</a>.</p>
+<p>Displayed equations can use <span class="docutils literal">\\</span> and <span class="docutils literal">&amp;</span> for line shifts and alignments:</p>
