Another possibility would be using the `.UR` / `.UE` macros to produce hyperlinks. They are described in groff_man(7) man page. The macros themselves are supported by groff since 2007, but the next groff version will enable them for terminal devices (using OSC 8 escape sequence). See groff commit 9dadd72a3c9cd40c20e06e80e918a68badf83b0f.
