doxygen recent versioning

Hello,

I noticed that the last 3 releases of doxygen have all gotten a bump in the=
 middle version number (1.10.0, 1.11.0, 1.12.0).
It seems like a break with tradition of incrementing this relatively rarely=
 and then various increments of the patch version number. E.g. the last one=
 before that was 1.9.8.

I=E2=80=99m interested to know what changed here. Did the definition on whe=
n to increment which number change? Or is the way versioning is determined =
still the same and these are all big updates?
Reason I ask is doxygen upgrades are always some effort for us so seeing th=
ese 3 increments of middle number makes me cautious about attempting the ne=
xt one (we=E2=80=99re currently on 1.9.8.).
