If refdbc asks for the password interactively it has to fiddle with
the terminal attributes in order to avoid echoing the password on the
screen. As you won't have a chance to enter a password anyway when
using the RefDB menu, you should set the password in your .refdbrc to
circumvent this problem. I've mentioned that way back in my original
post how to run refdbc from within Emacs.
