Following the discussion in :

, I'd like to see refdb use something in CITESTYLE to
help insert the citation key of an entry anywhere in
the bibliographic output, for instance in an <abbrev>
docbook XML tag (as an alternative to REFNUMBER for
numbered entries).

This feature has been implemented in svn since revision 152
and can be tested using the prereleases 0.9.8-pre4 and later.
