I think that all should now be working in v1.4 as you've described. But
please let me know if it isn't.

hmm, What about having it not split the window at all, but open the
results buffer at full frame? Then, when you kill that, you would just
be back to buffer you were editing in?

Not sure how to do it yet, but I think it's possible. If it is, I'll
just make it configurable, with the default to be splitting the window.

I guess you could do that, but I can see why you'd rather not, because
I'd rather not do it that way either.

Note that short of doing that, there are a couple of ways you more
quickly unsplit the window.

  1. Do "C-x o" and then "C-x 1".

     "C-x o" is "other-window", "C-x 1" is "delete-other-windows".

  2. Click the buffer/file name of the modeline of the buffer you were
     editing in (probably the top buffer) with your mouse-2 or mouse-3
     button (I think it depends on platform). That's the same as doing
     "C-x 1".

Can you be more specific about what kind of formatting you mean? Are the
titles getting cut off, but you want them wrapped?

Agreed it'd be great to have. I'll add a TODO list to the refdb-menu.el
file itself, and I'll put that in there, along with some of the other
ideas. But I think syntax highlighting will have to wait for a while,
partly because it's not directly related to the menu functionality, but
mostly because I've never done anything with syntax highlighting in
Emacs before and really don't have any idea how to do it yet. :)

That's an external tex command-line utility. Seems like it must be
getting called somewhere for some reason, but not getting found either
because you don't have it installed on your system at all or because
it's installed but not installed in a directory that's in your $PATH.
