Hi Rich, Rich Shepard <[email protected]> was heard to say: > I have only linux here, so I can test only on this OS. > I've had a look at several manpages today, and it seems that ls -al is quite portable, so I'll go with that. > If I correctly understand, I can still manually install the -pre7 by > completing the same steps that the script would run. Are the instructions the > same as with the -pre6 version that I followed only part way? > Yes, you can install it all the same, although there is hardly any benefit over pre6. The script simply tries to do what you would do manually if you follow the instructions. Running the script will always be optional. The only differences of the instructions to previous versions are the lack of the --with-db-server configure switch and the refdbdrc template. The latter used to be /usr/local/etc/refdb/refdbdrc.example, but now there are four refdbdrc.<engine>.example files which are preconfigured for the database engines. Use the template of your choice when creating refdbdrc. Due to this change the --with-db-server configure switch is obsolete. regards, Markus -- Markus Hoenicka [email protected] (Spam-protected email: replace the quadrupeds with "mhoenicka") http://www.mhoenicka.de
