Thanks, you were right. It wasn't running out of memory, it was that
one of the new documents somehow didn't have a title. *kickself*
What I'll be looking into next is how to integrate RefDB support into
DocBookWiki, which I'm using to host my thesis online (see
http://www.malcolm.id.au/thesis/). Since DocBookWiki doesn't support
RefDB the references don't appear in the Wiki version, only in the
downloads. I'll post back here if I have any success.
