Hi Olivier, your best bet would be to use the citation key as the custom abbreviation. This of course may require some thoughts before you add the data, but if a string composed of the last name and the publication year is sufficient, RefDB should have done the right thing anyway. I take from the citestylex documentation that RefDB currently does not allow to insert the citation key anywhere in the bibliographic output. Apparently no one asked for this yet, and I haven't thought of it either.
