New page, headers and footers.

I'm trying to edit rlib's text output to be page aware.... I'v looked  
at pdf.c to see what inspirations I would get but I had a hard time  
following what was going on. When a new page is triggered how does  
rlib prints the appropriate (headers and?) footers but I dont see the  
code that does that... are the headers and footers simply parts? If  
so that where can I find the code that adds them?
