Dear TEI Community, This year we introduced the Rahtz Prize for TEI Ingenuity at this year’s TEI Conference and Members’ Meeting in memory of Sebastian Rahtz, an innovator and dedicated contributor to core TEI initiatives: http://www.tei-c.org/Activities/rahtz.xml. As stated on the web page, the Rahtz Prize for TEI Ingenuity is awarded to an individual or team judged to have made a significant contribution to the TEI-C's mission in particular by means of technical innovation. Many members of the TEI Community are engaged in exploring new ways of implementing and expanding the coverage of the TEI system. It is hoped that this Prize will not only recognize excellent work already completed, but also encourage new projects and fresh approaches. The key dates are posted on the web site: • 1 April: Nominations Due • 1 June: Submissions Due • 15 September: Recipient Selected • Annual Business Meeting: Recipient Announced The recipient(s) will receive a cash award of $1,000 USD, or a round number of about the same value in the currency in which the prize is to be awarded. The Board, with input from the Council, is still finalizing the details around the application submission process. That should be sorted by the start of the new year with announcements for nominations coming soon after in February/March. Please share this announcement with colleagues and others who you know has a project or initiative that should be nominated! While there’s plenty of time yet for the nomination and application process, we want folks to begin thinking about this opportunity. —Michelle Chair of the TEI-C Board of Directors ----- Michelle Dalmau Head, Digital Collections Services ----- Indiana University Libraries Herman B Wells Library 1320 East 10th Street, Rm W501 Bloomington, Indiana 47405 ----- Twitter: @mdalmau
