Thinking about Users and Uses of Documentary Editions
Buffalo, New York, June 21-24 June 2017

The Association for Documentary Editing invites proposals for sessions at the organization's annual meeting to be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Buffalo, NY.
This year's theme is "Thinking about Users and Uses of Documentary Editions."  We especially invite papers, panels, and roundtables that examine, among other topics, how different communities of users (academic disciplines, media, educators, archivists, the general public, etc.) have engaged with editions; how users have provided feedback and input; how editions have been or might be used in teaching or other educational endeavors; or new uses for editions.  Proposals for other topics central to the work and publications of documentary editors are also welcome.  We also encourage proposals for a poster session involving demonstrations of websites or digital projects.
Submissions may take the following forms:

1)    Papers. Papers should be no more than 20 minutes in length, making a significant original contribution to scholarship.

2)    Panels. Panels may consist of either three associated papers.

3)    Roundtables. May consists of four to six speakers and should address topics of broad interest and scope, with the goal of fostering lively debate with audience participation.

4)    Posters. Posters showcase projects or present focused topics in a setting that features personal interaction and informal conversation. Posters on works-in-progress are encouraged.
Send your proposal in the form of Word document to Paul Israel ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>), chair of the program committee by 1 March 2017. The proposal should include an abstract of no more than 500 words, include the name, email address, and institutional affiliations for all participants, indicate the format and whether technological support will be required.
