superscript in <locus>

Manuscript catalogues often put the "r(ecto)" or "v(erso)" parts of locations in superscript. This is particularly helpful when the location is a roman numeral, e.g. "fol. iv<hi rend="superscript">v</hi>" rather than "fol. ivv". But <hi> is not allowed in <locus>. Does this seem worthy of a ticket? I realize that <locus> does allow <g>, which can be used to represent superscript, but <hi> seems the easiest way to encode this.
