Users should always enter æ using the dedicated Unicode character.
Display systems should always implement the choices of the font
designer, however inappropriate those choices may be.

I use "a + <zwj> + e" only for illustrative and testing purposes.
I do *not* recommend that anyone introduce alternate "spellings"
into a language which already has way too many of them.  I am
sorry if I called "a + ZWJ + e" an alternate spelling.
