The common wisdom about Latin ligatures seems to be to avoid the 
presentation forms, and to insert ZWJ between the two "normal" letters 
(or do nothing and expect the software to ligate automatically, which is 
much more problematic).  I would be surprised if this were any different 
for Armenian.

If the text in question is intended only for display (i.e. converting to 
PDF, PowerPoint, etc.) and not for searching, sorting, or interchange, 
then I would probably use the presentation forms.

Naturally, as James points out, it would be wise to make sure these 
ligatures are used in a culturally appropriate way and not just because 
they exist.
