Ok, thanks again, Jeremias.
The searchable text is a nice-to-have feature for us. So when i find some
time, i will try the new code. I guess it will make its way in the batik
release at some point of time anyway. 

By the way: That lib is good work. Runs out of the box, good configuration
options and handles complicated svg syntax correctly (in opposition to some
other software packages).
