Can batik convert Chinese ttf into svg?

Hi all, I want to use Chinese glyphs in svg, but by using "java -jar batik-ttf2svg.jar simsunb.ttf -id simsunb -o simsunb.svg", I can only get ascii characters in svg file. There is no Chinese characters. Is there anything I mistaken, or batik cannot convert Chinese ttf? Thanks! Peace
