Hi Marcel, my guess would be that the build script actually uses some very old ANT version instead of version 1.9.4. AFAIK, build.sh is very outdated and has stuff like "use ANT 1.6.5" in there. (The attribute "flattenattributes" has been introduced in ANT 1.8.0.) My advice is to either build BATIK without the script (simply run the all-jar target from the ANT build.xml file) or (if direct building is no option for you) to open build.sh in a text editor and add the command line option "-v" (without the quotes) to the ANT invocation. This option means "verbose" and will result in lots and lots of additional output - including the actual ANT version that is used. If the script indeed uses an outdated ANT version, you probably need to fix the script's CP variable. Hope this helps.
