Hi Martin,

We have our exist instances installed under 
*/usr/local/exist-distributions* with a symlink at */usr/local/exist-db* 
pointing to the active distribution. Our data is at 
*/usr/local**/exist-distributions/exist-data*, but I could image it 
being in */usr/local/exist-data* equally well. Whether this is standard 
practice I don't know and I don't know how to "find" it.
