Help! HP-UX compile failed.(ld: Unknown input file type: "./.libs/libexpat.so" Fatal error. *** Error exit code 1)

Hi

I use the expat in my project. 
I can compile the expat 2.0.1 in Linux, 
But when I try to compile it in HP-UX rx2620 11.23,
I get the following error.
(ld: Unknown input file type: "./.libs/libexpat.so" Fatal error. *** Error
exit code 1)

Do somebody know why?
