May be do you mean the commit [https://github.com/apache/xmlgraphics-fop/co=
mmit/73ebfb18d86765ba0185fe8c27099434907fc356?] I think no need to remove t=
he condition`getUserAgent().isPdfUAEnabled()` specially in the `drawLine` f=
unction. I set PDF/UA mode in the FOP config in my production environment, =
and now the line marked as Artifact, even without this commit.

There is a difference between `<fo:leader leader-pattern=3D"dots"/>` and `<=
fo:leader leader-pattern=3D"rule" rule-style=3D"dotted"></fo:leader>` in th=
e PDF rendering:

Is there a way to redefine the character (quad vs. circle), size and may di=
stance between the glyphs?
