I have a problem with bulleted lists in jfor 0.71 (with Cocoon). Currently the fo:list-item-label elements are rendered as small bullets, ignoring the actual content of the list-item-label in the source FO document. These bullets look OK in Word for Windows (though I'd like to make them bigger), but they appear as Greek sigma characters in Word for Mac, which is horrible. These docs are for school teachers, and unfortunately a lot of schools use Macintoshes. What I'd like to do is to patch jfor to respect the contents of the fo:list-item-label, so I can specify my own bullet characters, but I'd appreciate some advice. Over a year ago, Chris Scott wrote an email about lists that seemed relevant, about using RTF List Tables to format lists: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=22405&forum_id=938 I've downloaded the jfor source code and had a quick look; it seems that the RtfListTable is now integrated, but there's also some other code which seems to deal with the list bullets (in RtfList and RtfListItem). Is some of this code obsolete? Or redundant? I'd appreciate it if anyone could provide some pointers or background information about this part of jfor, and suggestions about where to start with the list labels. Cheers!
