This usually means that jfor is unable to accept the structure of your 
input document, either due to an invalid XSL-FO construct or to a 
construct that jfor doesn't  understand.

Here's what you can try:
-check the syntax of your input document with another XSL-FO processor 
(FOP for example)
-compare your document with the jfor samples (available with the jfor 
source code)
-reduce your document to the smallest possible document that still 
causes the same problem and post it here so that we can have a look at 
it.
