getServerPort problem!

Hi everybody! I am working on upgrading from Resin 2.1.2 to Resin 3.0.14. The application running on Resin 2.1.2 is currently in production. I am also upgrading the JDK from 1.3 to 5.0 and Redhar Linux 7.2 to RHE 4. The application uses a hardware load balancer to use an external IP. The internal IP has been configured to listen on port 8080 instead of port 80. The application uses request.getServerPort to get the port number. This returns 80 instead of 8080. The servlet version being used is 2.3. Do I have to upgrade to servlet 2.4 to use getLocalPort? What is the solution if I have to use servlet 2.3 since it may not be possible for me to upgrade the servlet version. Thanks in advance!
