Upload and Resize Image

Hi All,
   
  I am working on a project where I users can upload images (of any size) and I need to resize them if they are greater than a certain size (w x h). After some googling I didn't find many (hardly any) solutions for servlet/jsp that do this, but I did find this for php.

  My question is, should this work with quercus? Maybe I'm lazy, but I thought I'd ask before I spend the time trying to get it to work only to discover it makes calls not supported by quercus.
