We have no plans of standardizing yet. The order should be, as I see it:
1. something that is proven to work well (done)
2. initial request for comments (done)
3. improve and extend
4. first public draft (spec + faq)
Then when it turns out to be successful, I see no reason why it could
not be standardized. However, it's a bit too early for that. But
having a properietary, non-extensible protocol is definitely not the
intention.
