NOPE.

Sorry, all you can hope for is an 'unofficial' extension and support
by a limited number of toolkits.
Exactly what has happened for other extensions, such as <nil/> etc...

If you are loath to move to SOAP, just could just encapsulate base64
integers into strings, and let the single application sort out what to
do with the received data...
