how to get all the posts?

i had a couple of doubts regarding xmlrpclib

How can i get all the posts in the blog??

and for this 
"metaWeblog.getPost (postid, username, password)"
how do i know the postid ("metaWeblog.getCategories" is not giving the
postid )

how many posts does "metaWeblog.getRecentPosts" will fetch
